Leah Duncan for Art Gallery Fabrics

Oh lord, this new print cotton collection from illustrator Leah Duncan isn’t really helping my resolve to sew some more practical, solid, autumnal pieces next. These summery prints, inspired by the Nevada landscape, are a dream.

The lookbook has it drafted into several garments: I haven’t sewn with quilting cotton before but seems like these could work out okay with the right pattern choice.

Available in the UK at M is for Make.

Thank you for the mention :) sewing with quilting cottons can work especially on more structured rather than floaty patterns. And Art Gallery Fabrics have the loveliest base cloth of all that I have, softer with a higher thread count so better suited to dressmaking. The garments they have made up look really great, I love the shorts.

Soo many pretty fabrics!! Ahh I can’t even, I want them all. Especially that triangle print coral, it’d make such a cute Scout top I think.

Oh it so would, the speckly blue top-left one would be a perfect Scout to wear with jeans, too. Damn, I don’t think I can resist.

I absolutely LOVE this collection…and I’m dying to know where to get the patterns for the shorts, skirt and tank top they show in the lookbook. Does anyone know where I can get them? I’ve been looking all over for the tank top pattern and can’t find anything

I’ve made a couple of skirts out of quilting cotton (Amy Butler fabric) a few years back, I found they fade quicker than dress fabric and not as soft but ok. I am thrilled to have discovered your blog – I’ve spent the day trawling through your sewing projects and pinning like mad! Thanks for all your work maintaining your blog.
